Contribute to global pluralism
by Jessica Horn
I grew up in Southern Africa and the South Pacific with the BBC World Service – radio journalism that has remained a part of my life to this day. The BBC has been a source of critical journalism and innovative programming from politics to the arts to contemporary social debates – and should stay that way – open, rigorous and a contribution to global pluralism, critical thinking and public knowledge. It would be a devastating loss to have a BBC become swayed by commercial interest, or losing its rigour and quality due to underfunding and government interference.

Why vote? We will feed in readers' favourite ideas to the government's consultation on the future of the BBC, and profile them heavily in the media. We believe the debate over the BBC's future is too narrow and focused on cuts - it's missing strong, positive ideas about what public broadcasting can and should be. By voting, you can have your say on what those ideas should be - and if you've got your own, share them with us→
